President Obama recently met with leaders of 20 the country’s largest corporations in a working session to discuss key areas of opportunity for growing the economy, better preparing the country’s workforce, competing globally and spurring private sector hiring. The nearly 5-hour meeting included discussions on ideas for investment in innovation and entrepreneurship, reforming the country’s education system, providing better training and preparation for workers, opening up global markets through trade and export promotion, taking a balanced approach to regulation that promotes rather than undermines economic growth and encouraging investment in the U.S.
The President asked the attendees to continue the dialogue with him on a shared agenda focused on expanding the U.S. economy and ensuring the country competes and leads internationally.
